Short description of parts of the project:

1. Preparation of plans about heritage protection and final construction drawings related to the restoration of the Synagogue:

Restoration and painting of the interior of the Synagogue of Pécs will be done according to the plans about heritage protection and final construction drawings of Bartal és Rabb Kft.

2. Acquisition of tools and accomplishment of tasks related to the Jewish memorial historical exhibition:

The goal of the exhibition organized by GeoScience Kft. is to display the history of Jews in Pécs and Baranya with the help of traditional museum tools, interactive tableaus and consoles. The exhibition planned to be ready for visitors by 30th June, 2014 will take place on the first floor gallery of the Synagogue.

3. Restoration of the Synagogue of Pécs:

Works planned to be finished by 2015 include:
– Restoration of painting around the Torah cabinet
– Restoration of the plaster of the interior
– Cleaning of the first Angster organ
– Swap of marked platforms
– Modernization of gutters

As a result of the restoration the Synagogue will be accessible for visitors by the beginning of 2015

An old dream of the Jewish Community is going to become a reality thanks to this project, because besides the restoration of the Synagogue an exhibition about the history of Jews in Pécs and Baranya is also going to be organized.
